Another Awesome HFH Board Member

It takes a bunch of people to help us bring our projects together.

Meet HFH Board Member

Secretary
Heidi Person

My name is Heidi Person and I love serving on the Habitat for Humanity of Pope County Board of Directors. I currently serve as secretary.

I am originally from Sand Springs, Oklahoma but came to Arkansas in 2003 to play soccer at the University of Central Arkansas. I received my Bachelor’s of Science in Health Sciences in 2007 and my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010. I have been working at River Valley Therapy and Sports Medicine for almost 14 years now. I am married to my wonderful husband of 16 years and we have 2 children and 2 dogs that act like children! In my free time you will find me cheering on my kiddos at various sporting activities, running, riding my bike, playing soccer with my adult women’s team or doing anything outdoors.

I have been involved with missions a good deal of my life. I love the ability to use my hands to help people and feel that Habitat for Humanity is a way of sharing God’s love in our community. I love the ability to call Pope County home and the ability to help provide safe housing for those who need it. I truly believe in the mission of Habitat…to provide and hand-up to those we serve. I believe that in building up those we serve we give them the ability to do so for others.

Habitat for Humanity Pope County

Eligibility Requirements

Please review the information below that explains several things required to participate in this unique program.
  • Potential Habitat homeowners must demonstrate a need for safe,
affordable housing. Needs will vary from community to community.
  • Prospective households are low to moderate income. In the U.S., we
serve families whose income does not exceed 60% of the area median
income as defined for the area by the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development. Homeowner eligibility and selection take place at the
local level and it can vary from community to community.
  • Once selected, Habitat homeowners must partner with us throughout the
process. This partnership includes performing “sweat equity,” or helping
to build their own home or the homes of others in our homeownership
program. Sweat equity can also include taking homeownership classes or
    performing volunteer work.
  • Homeowners must also be able and willing to pay an affordable
mortgage. Habitat makes a reasonable effort to ensure that an affordable
mortgage does not exceed 30% of the homeowner’s gross monthly income.
Mortgage payments are cycled back into the community to help build
    additional Habitat houses.
